What are the types of conformal coatings ?

Release time:2025-12-09

According to composition and curing characteristics, conformal coatings are mainly classified into four types:

Acrylic: Cost-effective, fast curing, easy to apply by spraying, and with good repairability. Suitable for protection of general electronic equipment.

Silicone: Excellent resistance to high and low temperatures (-50°C to 200°C), strong aging resistance, and good flexibility. Ideal for equipment used in outdoor and high-temperature environments.

Polyurethane: Outstanding chemical corrosion resistance, high hardness of the protective film, and strong adhesion. Suitable for harsh environments such as chemical and marine applications.

UV-curable: Cured by UV irradiation, with extremely fast curing speed (a few seconds to several minutes), low volatile organic compounds, compatible with automated production lines, and highly eco-friendly.

In addition, there are minor types such as epoxy coatings, which have a narrow application range due to their brittleness after curing and difficulty in repair.
