What are the precautions for using thermal silicone pads?
There are 5 key precautions:
① Clean the surface: Before use, use a cleaning agent such as anhydrous ethanol to remove oil and dust from the surface of heat-dissipating substrates (chips, radiators), as impurities will reduce thermal conductivity
.② Control the thickness: Select an appropriate thickness according to the heat dissipation gap (usually 0.5–5 mm). Excessive thickness reduces thermal conductivity, while insufficient thickness may result in poor contact.
③ Avoid over-compression: Apply uniform pressure during installation to ensure full contact only. Over-compression will damage the structure of the silicone pad and impair thermal conductivity.
④ Do not reuse: Once attached, the thermal silicone pad forms a tight bond with the substrate. Impurities will remain on the surface after disassembly, and reuse will significantly degrade performance.
⑤ Standard storage: Store sealed in a cool and dry environment, away from moisture, high temperature or direct sunlight to prevent aging and loss of stickiness.
